As we usher into the post covid-19 era where things have started to iron out as more and more people are getting vaccinated we should also remember that last year the world saw 19 million new cancer cases and around 10 million deaths due to cancer related complications, however in this 21st century we have made tremendous advancements in medical science, every year billions of dollars are spent on medical research due to which the mortality rate has reduced drastically. Most of the time a person can walk scot free if the cancer is detected and treated in the early stages but if ignored cancer can advance to a higher stage and the story become very different and morbid, hence it is imperative that people are aware of cancer.
Grace Cancer Run was conducted for this sole purpose only and it couldn’t come at a better time when people are reluctant to go to hospital due to the fear that they might contact covid and ignore what may be early stage of cancer!
The run was conducted on 09th Oct 2021 and IQ301 was the timing partner for this run. These type of community run not only spread awareness against a very important cause but also boost immunity and build stamina for those who participate in it!
There were 2 categories, one was 10 km run and other was 5km run! And we provided accurate time for all runners in both formats! This not only helps one access their fitness but also allows them to set future goal for themselves.
The energy and anticipation before the run had a very positive vibe! Everyone wanted to prove the mettle and run to the best of their abilities! The 10 km run started at 6:30 in the morning! There was a loop turn 2.5 km from the starting point and runners who were running the 10km were to run around that point twice whereas runners who were running 5 km had to run around just once. The running track was beautiful with lush green trees on both side of the road providing fresh morning air, shade and picturesque track to motivate the runners to participate with more fervour. Best part of the whole event was the level of participation, men women and children of all ages were participating in the event! Level of enthusiasm was surreal! As if everyone running that day have challenged themselves to complete the race in best possible time! Water station in different places made sure that people were properly hydrated so that they can complete the run !
There were all kinds of runners !! people who are giving their all to complete the race as fast as possible to people who just want to enjoy themselves and finish the run.

Special shout-out to NCC cadets for motivating the runners and to help manage the entire event! They were positioned at the start and the loop turn to help organizers manage the run properly. When the runner was near the finish line, he or she were greeted by at least 10 dholwalas giving them the final push to run the last few steps with equal energy and zeal that they started their race with, upon completion runners were given their finisher medal, refreshments were provided to replenish their energy. In the age of social media where people like to post their best moments to share with the world there was a selfie point set up near the finish line!
Also a stage was set up at the start point where there was all kind of different activates were going on ranging from flash mob to Zumba. Also the prize was distributed here for the top 3 position. Here is the list of winners :
IQ301 successfully managed to time 352 runners, we are also very proud to be part of such an important cause and we will keep on the good work in the future as well.
